The University of Notre Dame family and the Congregation of Holy Cross are joining in an annual celebration of the feast day for Holy Cross founder Blessed Basil Moreau, C.S.C., and his legacy, including joy in community, faith and hope in the Cross of Christ, and excellence in education of both the mind and the heart.

JAN. 19 Vigil Prayer Service

Gather to pray through the intercession of Blessed Basil Moreau, C.S.C.
8 pm. Basilica of the Sacred Heart, Lady Chapel.

JAN. 20 Mass for the Feast of Blessed Basil Moreau, C.S.C.

Celebrant: Rev. David Tyson, C.S.C., Provincial Superior, Indiana Province.
5:15 pm. Basilica of the Sacred Heart.

JAN. 20 Men in Black: Inspirations and Reflections

A panel of Holy Cross priests offers thoughts on their life and work.
Univesity President Rev. John Jenkins, C.S.C., is one of the participants.
7:30 pm. Washington Hall.

JAN. 22 The Blessed Basil Moreau Lecture: Prof. John Cavadini

The chair of Notre Dame’s Department of Theology looks at life and faith.
Prof. Mary Ellen O’Connell of Notre Dame Law School is Discussant.
7:30 pm. Jordan Auditorium, Mendoza College of Business.

Blessed Father Moreau is the founder of Holy Cross. The Congregation of Holy Cross is the religious order that founded Notre Dame in 1842 and has continued its dynamic presence on campus, serving as the heartbeat of the University community.
